Last December 7, International Civil Aviation Day was celebrated, officially recognized in 1996 by the UN.
This date commemorates the creation of the ICAO in 1944, which is the body that regulates civil aviation standards.
The objective of this day is for countries to cooperate to create a global transit network at the service of all humanity, with the purpose of creating and reinforcing global awareness about the importance of international civil aviation.
Every five years a special anniversary theme is established for International Civil Aviation Day and from now until 2023 the theme is: “Encouraging innovation for the development of global aviation.”
